This was an experiment with a homemade aperture filter.  I made a little cap out of black construction paper, and made a filter with a small heart in it.  The effect, while a bit crude, actually worked.  The light source was a string of Xmas lights.

On the way into the building at work this morning, I saw the moon just as clear as day. I managed to get a nice shot with the telephoto lens - too bad the trees are lost here.

Last day of jury duty, so I decided to try for a more urbane picture of downtown.  I went with black and white because of the gas station in the foreground.

I was at the kid's school for Curriculum Night, and I had my camera with me for no particular reason.  I like the colors of this shot, though - there was a floodlight in the parking lot giving the trees a nice glow.

This is the first HDR photo that I'm really proud to say I had taken.  Before my second day of jury duty, I decided to take advantage of the parking garage vantage point and get a shot of the new courthouse.  I thought I had taken the shot too late in the morning, but I had inadvertently lowered the exposure brackets on the shot.  That, with the polarizer, really gave it some punch.

I was really, really tired!  I was up for about 36 hours straight, and the delirium was set in.  I still like this picture, though.  I think at the time, everything was starting to look over-saturated and in 3D.

Reece wore himself out, and fell asleep in a sea of stuffed animals.  This is the kind of situation where having a fast lens makes all the difference.  That would have been one cranky kid if I had to use the flash . . . .
