What Am I Doing Here?

This is my attempt to take one picture every day for an entire year. So far, so good . . . .

Everybody loves Foot-Foot!!

October 19, 2010

I'm still playing with mock tilt shift in Photoshop.  I like the effect - especially since a real tilt-shift lens is obnoxiously expensive.

October 18, 2010

This little project worked out better than I had hoped.  I took one of the doll heads and suspended it in a glass of water (and froze it.)  For a backlight, I used a small LED flashlight.

October 17, 2010

Yes, it's true.  There's a baby doll encased in ice, stored in the freezer!  Don't you wish you had one?

October 16, 2010

Spent the afternoon at Inniswood Metro Park with the children.  I was keeping an eye on reflections, and caught this one in a slow moving stream.

October 15, 2010

Spent the day in Amish country.  Jenny was gracious enough to pose for some windy day pictures.

October 14, 2010

Nothing like sitting on the freeway during a traffic jam.

October 13, 2010

This is a small assortment of building blocks that the children stacked on the highest shelf in the basement for some reason.

October 12, 2010

You know that Halloween's around the corner when someone nails a baby doll to the wall.

October 11, 2010

Morning sky as I walked into the office this morning.  I love Autumn - its only flaw is in its proximity to winter . . .

October 10, 2010

On the way home from what was  'Clash of the Titans II' sans Alice in Chains.  Anthrax as the opener, Megadeth follows, and finishing out with Slayer.  The rules state that after any Slayer concert, you are to blast all the Slayer tunes you felt they should have played that night.  Had to queue up 'Playing with Dolls', 'Jihad', 'Mandatory Suicide', and 'Snuff' since they were omitted.

This year, I learned that one of Groveport Apple Butter Day's staples is the wooden yardsticks that the police department gives away.  Funny enough, on the other side of the event, someone was giving away tree starts.  So we picked up one of those, too.

It's like we're part of the problem and the solution!

October 7, 2010

Upshot of the trees outside work.  Nothing there, except fall creeping in . . .

October 6, 2010

This is an altered picture of my favorite subject - the lamp in the family room.  I've been playing with plugins for Photoshop - Droste for Pixel Bender Toolkit.

October 5, 2010

Quick picture of rain hitting the sunroof of my car.

October 4, 2010

There's a chipmunk roaming the neighborhood, munching on the pumpkins on the front porch.  The kids found some gourds at Lynd's Fruit Farm - seemed like a perfect match!

October 3, 2010

New brake lights for the Lincoln!

October 2, 2010

Koi pond at Franklin conservatory - just a bit of long exposure fun.

October 1, 2010

First try at tilt shift via Photoshop.  I had a few throwaway shots, and the effect was pretty easy to execute.  I'll have to keep at it to get a picture I really like.

September 30, 2010

This was an experiment with a homemade aperture filter.  I made a little cap out of black construction paper, and made a filter with a small heart in it.  The effect, while a bit crude, actually worked.  The light source was a string of Xmas lights.

September 29, 2010

Playing with my old camera.  I wanted to get a picture of a faster 'Live View'  implementation.

September 28, 2010

After dusting and searching, we found and assembled a whole bunch of remote controls.  In the case of a zombie apocalypse, we'll have something to throw at them!
