What Am I Doing Here?

This is my attempt to take one picture every day for an entire year. So far, so good . . . .

This shot was fun - I set up my camera and tripod up on my back seat.  I had a wide-angle lens(.45x) from my Minolta Z1 attached, and set my kit lens to wide (18mm).  Of course, distortion and CA are rampant here, but I got a fun set of pointless pictures out of this little experiment.

I took this picture of my daughter while walking.  I went ahead and converted to black and white for the fun of it!

I front-focused a bit on this picture, but I still liked how it came out.  Rachel was playing the PSP and having a bit of water.  I'm not sure what game was being played, but it was apparently an intense one!

Sick today, but I still wanted to get a shot.  Reece was sleepy and a bit cranky before bedtime, so I sat in front of him while he made sad faces at me.  This one came out the best.  This was a real low-light shot - the ISO auto-set to 6400.

My wife let me use her as my subject today.  I need to learn portraits, and this one has been one of my best so far!  I was using my 50mm wide open, which is still my favorite lens.  I just love using the manual focus - it feels like I'm really taking the picture.  I won't knock auto-focus - it's a lot faster, but it's not as much fun!
