What Am I Doing Here?

This is my attempt to take one picture every day for an entire year. So far, so good . . . .

I had a small lot of Xmas lights that were never used, so I thought about keeping them near a reflective surface and seeing what kind of shots would come out.  This one wasn't too bad in color, but I liked the mood it produced when I converted to black and white.

Another last minute shot.  I sat in a dark room and exposed for the candle light.  The overall effect was quite nice - I tried manipulating as a black and white, but i wasn't as happy with the results.

Light fixture above my desk at work.  I was starting to feel under the weather, so this is all I managed to capture today.

You'd think there was only one lamp in the house!  It's always my test subject - I got to playing with the the development settings and noticed that the wall texture wasn't lost in all the manipulation.

I went and purchased fabrics for backdrops.  Then I played with them a bit, seeing the effects different lights have.  My small LED flashlight brought out the blue in the red sheer fabric reminiscent of disco - I'll have to avoid using it.  Actually, I was surprised how well the fabrics looked in full light .

It seemed like such a nice day, and I had my little skeleton guy out and about with me, and these pretty flowers were there . . .
Or maybe it was a perfect day to begin the Zombie Apocalypse . . .

A quick shot of the lamp outside our house - we stuck a bug light out there hoping that it might work.  It did a pretty good job last year.

I had taken a bunch of pictures of downtown outside my sunroof (there was a bit of stopped traffic).  They didn't come out so well - any other time, you see a grat vantage point of the downtown skyline and think, 'that would make a nice picture.'  Maybe traffic didn't stop in the right place . . .
